Cigar Filler 1

This weekend, I was able to try a bunch of new cigars. First, from the Tabacalera Perdomo I had the Edicion de Silvio Robusto. The Silvio edition was created as a tribute to Nick Perdomo's late grandfather. The blend for this cigar is a family secret, not even sharing the origin of the tobacco, however it is known that they are all grown from Cuban seed. Only five torcedors (cigar rollers) were allowed to roll the entire edition under the supervision of the Perdomo family. Cigars International says:
Edicion de Silvio issues a well-rounded, mature flavor that’s full of complex, yet delicate undertones that seem to tease the palate as the smoke builds to a full-bodied finish. Each size is blended differently, using size-specific portions of different tobaccos, to promote a unique, interesting cigar across the line. A phenomenal cigar, so good that it’s easy to see why Robb Report declared Edicion de Silvio "Best of the Best."
This was a really nice mild cigar. Lots of herbal flavors. Very mellow. Acquired one off a friend of mine and I enjoyed it thoroughly. That being said, it's an incredibly overpriced cigar. The tobacco may be very expensive, but it's not worth the $20/stick (Cigars International) price point. You can get several other cigars with same type of flavors for 1/2 to 1/4 the price.

Continuing with the Perdomo line, I had the Estate Seleccion Vintage 1991 Connecticut (ESV) Regente.

The cigar contains a rare blend of triple fermented, Cuban-seed tobaccos grown in Nicaragua in 1991, which Nick Perdomo, Sr. bought up in 1995. These hand-crafted cigars are cedar box-aged at least 7 months before they're released to the consumer. About the flavor, Cigars International says:
Bubbling to the brim with rich complexity, the ESV ’91 issues an assortment of robust flavors filled with rich, earthy tones and the slightest bit of creamy spice on the aftertaste. Truly magnificent. The ‘legacy’ box designed store these ultra-fine super-premiums is another work of art of its own.
This was also an excellent cigar. The flavors had me stumped. I had never tasted another cigar like it, but I loved it. This cigar checks in at $6.25-13.32/stick. Frankly, it's worth it. Yes, you can get good cigars for $8 less than the bigger sized ESVs, but flavor I experienced was amazing and I want to have it again. I'll definitely be picking up a box of these.

I'll post again late with the other cigars that I've had.

Summary:
  1. Perdomo Edicion de Silvio - 4/4
  2. Perdomo ESV '91 - 4/4 (definite buy)
