Kannagi

Just finished watching two anime series yesterday. The first was Kannagi.

This was an okay show about a boy who carves a wooden statue that turns into cute, blue-haired, girl (straight out of Pygmalion) with a bold, self-centered personality and hijinks ensue. The animation is top-notch, putting some animated movies to shame and it's only a TV show. The opening song (OP) is pretty catchy as well.

The show has some decently funny moments as it goes along. The only problem is that for whatever reason, it decides to take itself too seriously and the writers try to put some forced meaning into the ending. It ends up not really being that pertinent to the rest of the story at all. All in all, it was a decent anime. I didn't waste my time, but I certainly wouldn't watch it again.
